Privacy notice.

What this website collects, why, and where it is kept. It describes how the site works today. Draft, pending attorney review.

Who we are. This website, storysamurai.vc (also reachable at storysamurai.ai), is run by [TO CONFIRM BY ATTORNEY/ARI: legal entity name that operates this site], [TO CONFIRM BY ATTORNEY/ARI: postal mailing address].

Last updated: [TO CONFIRM BY ATTORNEY/ARI: effective date].

You can read every public page without giving any personal details. The forms on this site are optional. The sections below list what each one keeps.

Request information form

If you send the “Request information” form on the home page, we save your name, your email address, your message (optional), whether you ticked the box saying you believe you are an accredited investor, and the time you sent it.

Consultation request form

If you send the form on the consultation page, we save your name, the email address and/or phone number you give, your note (optional), the page you sent it from, the time, and your browser’s user agent (a short description of your browser and device). Booking a time happens on Calendly (see below).

Stay in touch (optional) on event links

When you open an event from our events list, we offer an optional “Stay in touch” box. If you fill it in, we save your name (optional), the email address and/or phone number you give, the event you chose and its link, the time, and your browser’s user agent. Nothing is sent to you automatically. If you choose Skip, we save only that a skip happened, with the event and the time, and no name, email, phone, IP address or user agent. Events are run by their organizers, not by us, and their pages have their own privacy terms.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to the educational newsletter, we save your email address, the newsletters you chose, your time zone as reported by your browser (used to time sends), and a record of your consent: the time, your IP address and your browser’s user agent. We send one confirmation email first. We keep a history of changes to your subscription (for example confirming, pausing, changing newsletters or unsubscribing) and a record of which issues were sent to you. When you use a link in one of our emails, we record that action and add it to overall counts. Our emails are plain text and do not contain tracking pixels. If an email bounces or is marked as spam, or if you unsubscribe, we keep a record so we do not email you again.

Investor sign-in and onboarding

Investor sign-in is for people we have added as investors. Accounts are managed with Amazon Cognito and identified by email address. To sign in, we email you a one-time 8-digit code. The code is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, expires after 15 minutes, and the record is set to be deleted automatically about a day after it is issued.

If you complete investor onboarding after signing in, we save the details you enter: legal name, investor type, entity signatory and title (for entities), postal address, phone number, intended investment amount, and your accreditation basis, verification method and self-certification. When you acknowledge a document or sign, we save the document version, the time, your IP address and browser user agent, your typed name and the attestation text, together with a fingerprint (hash) of the signed record. Tax ID numbers are not collected on this site. When you sign, our team is notified by email.

Google Analytics and cookies

Every page loads Google Analytics (measurement ID G-PTMGEV04TC) from googletagmanager.com. It sets cookies in your browser (such as _ga and _ga_PTMGEV04TC) and sends Google information about your visit, such as the pages you view, your browser and device, and your approximate location derived from your IP address. We use it to count visits and see which pages are used. Google handles this data under its own privacy policy. You can block these cookies in your browser settings, or with Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

The site itself sets no other cookies. The investor sign-in keeps its session in your browser’s storage.

Calendly scheduling

Every page loads a scheduling button from Calendly (assets.calendly.com), and our booking link is calendly.com/mollycoh/30min. Loading the button connects your browser to Calendly. If you book a time, the details you give are collected by Calendly under its own privacy policy.

Where it is stored and who receives it

The form, newsletter and onboarding records above are stored in Amazon DynamoDB databases on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States (us-east-1). Emails (newsletter confirmations, sign-in codes and team notifications) are sent through Amazon Simple Email Service (SES). Apart from the Google Analytics and Calendly connections described above, no other third-party services are loaded by this site.
